Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.
Also: dental, vision, group insurance, life insurance benefits.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Driver’s Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, WHMIS Certificate, H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness) Training, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer A train, Tractor-trailer B train, Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Liquid bulk, Hydrovac

Type of Travel: Local, Provincial/territorial

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Plan travel schedules and routes, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
