Shift work is involved. Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant. Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training. Experience: at least a full year’s experience. Credentials required: The applicant should have Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), First Aid Certificate. Work Setting: Women’s shelter Target Groups or Clients: Female, Children Type of Community or Social Service: Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders), Socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance), Services for the homeless Specific Skills: Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients, Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research Additional Skills: Administrative and office activities, Housekeeping activities, Food preparation Security and Safety: Confidential security clearance, Child welfare check Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure Work Location Information: Urban area Essential Skills: Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning Profile: for Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society Phoenix Safe House: 21 day emergency shelter for abused women and children.
