Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends.

Salary: will be $32,000.00 to $45,000.00 per year for a 35 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training, completed university.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Residential treatment centre

Area of Counselling Specialization: Substance abuse

Specific Skills: Interview clients, Prepare case histories, Assess clients’ problems, Counsel clients and provide psychotherapy, Evaluate clients’ progress in resolving identified problems and movement towards defined objectives, Conduct vocational testing and psychometric assessment, Write reports (assessment, follow-up, progress, court reports, etc.), Knowledge of 12 step philosophy, Facilitate groups, Teach life skills

Additional Skills: Perform administrative tasks, Use computer applications

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Drug test

Other Information: Duties: providing individual & group counselling, lecture presentation, effective documentation, and making referrals. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related 2 year Diploma + experience.
