Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $54,000.00 per year for a 60 hour week.
Notes: bonus, and other benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, Commercial Driver Registration Program (CDRP) Card, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate, Defensive Driving Course, Professional Driver Improvement Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer B train, Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Van, Refrigerated, Liquid bulk, Dry bulk

Type of Travel: Regional, Provincial/territorial, National, International

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance, Perform emergency roadside repairs

Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test
