Terms: This is a permanent, full time job

Salary: will be $19.00 to $25.00 per hour for a 50 hour week.
Also: group insurance benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 3 or D), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, WHMIS Certificate, H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness) Training, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Hydrovac

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Long-haul, Local, Provincial/territorial

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Loading and unloading of goods, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence

Work Location Information: Willing to relocate
