Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Salary: will be $18.00 to $20.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some high school.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Barbering Trade Certification, Barber Licence, Hairstylist Licence.

Work Setting: Hairstyling salon or studio, Barber shop

Hair Cutting Techniques: Scissor cutting, Razor cutting, Long hair trimming, Short hair cutting

Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, Braiding, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Extensions, Twisting, Locking, Relaxing, Spiking, Pin curling, Roller setting

Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Presentations, Streaking/highlights

Related Skills: Analyze hair and scalp conditions and provide basic treatments, Provide advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair

Barbering Specific Skills: Cut and trim hair, Shave and trim beards and mustaches, Provide scalp massages, Wave, straighten and tint hair, Tint mustaches and beards

Additional Skills: Book appointments, Shampoo customers’ hair, Supervise other hair stylists and other staff, Supervise apprentices/students in training, Perform cashiering duties, Perform receptionist duties
