Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $15.00 per hour for a 38 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), Basic cardiac life support (BCLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Continuing care assistant certification.

Work Setting: Home for the aged

Specific Skills: Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Lift, turn or massage patients, Shave patients prior to operations, Supervise patients’ exercise routines, Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas, Bathe, dress and groom patients, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, Answer call signals, Collect specimens

Additional Skills: Supply and empty bed pans, Serve meal trays and feed patients, Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens, Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms, Maintain inventory of supplies

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Drug test, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test
