Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working evenings and nights. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $32,540.00 to $41,400.00 per year for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some university, completed university.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cultural Awareness Training, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Shelter for the homeless

Target Groups or Clients: Male, Female, Adolescents, Aboriginal groups, Culturally diverse groups, Street population

Type of Community or Social Service: Early intervention programming for at-risk youth, Services for the homeless

Specific Skills: Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, Appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services, Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Conduct follow-up assessments, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients, Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research
