Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Machinist Trade Certification, Machinist Red Seal Endorsment, WHMIS Certificate.

Work Setting: General manufacturing

Type of Machine Experience: Conventional

Machining Tools and Machines: Boring machines, Drill presses, Engine lathes, Honing machines, Milling machines

Measuring Tools: Micrometers, Callipers, Gauges

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables, Repair machine tools and parts, Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Air conditioned

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Continuous learning
