Salary: will be $32.00 to $38.00 per hour for a 40 hour week. Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training, some university. Experience: at least five years’ experience. Credentials required: The applicant should have Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification, Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement. Type of Experience: Trucks Area of Specialization: Engine repair, Electrical and electronic systems, Diesel engines, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake systems, Hydraulic systems, Engine repair and overhaul, Welding Mechanical Repairer Specific Skills: Inspect and test mechanical units, Diagnose faults and malfunctions, Repair and replace mechanical units, Test and adjust units to specifications Truck Mechanic Specific Skills: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems, Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications, Perform scheduled maintenance service Additional Skills: Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor, Complete reports to record problems and work performed, Estimate parts and labour costs, Customer service skills Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning Other Information: This opportunity is with a growing shop that currently has several apprentices & what they need is a Senior Tech’s that can help guide & train these Junior Tech’s to help them all work efficiently.
