Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $22.00 to $27.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some college or technical training.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, Driver’s License.

Area of Steamfitting and Pipefitting Specialization: Heating systems, Cooling systems, Combustible gas systems, Chemical/petrochemical systems, Steam systems, Fire protection systems, Water treatment systems, Clean-room environment systems

Pipefitting / Steamfitting Testing Methods: Non-destructive

Type of Piping: Black carbon or steel, Plastic, Copper, Stainless steel

Specific Skills: Cut openings for pipes in walls, ceilings or floors, Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size, Weld, braze, cement or solder pipes and joints, Remove and replace defective components, Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping and sprinkling systems, Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment, Operate power lifts

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications

Security and Safety: Driver’s validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation
