Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Ironworker Trade Certification, Driver’s License.

Major Work Area: New construction (Not pre-engineered)

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Civil (roads, bridges, etc.)

Area of Specialization: Erect structural steel, Install reinforcing steel

Welding Techniques: Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG)

Specific Skills: Align, weld or bolt units in place, Work at heights and in confined areas

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Perform job-site calculations

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Attention to detail, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, At heights

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking
