Credentials required: The applicant should have Drywall Finisher Trade Certification, Plasterer Trade Certification, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice.

Specific Skills: Clean and prepare surfaces, Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency, Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster, Finish corners and angles, Create decorative designs in finish coat, Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings, Measure, cut and fit and install drywall sheets, Cut and install metal corner beads, Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks, Tape over joints with tape and compound, Sand seams and joints, Cut openings in laths for piping, ducts and electrical outlets, Install exterior and interior steel studs, Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation

Additional Skills: Estimate labour and material costs, Work at heights, Supervise other workers
