Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $14.00 to $20.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Continuing care assistant certification.

Work Setting: Nursing or convalescent home

Specific Skills: Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Lift, turn or massage patients, Supervise patients’ exercise routines, Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas, Bathe, dress and groom patients, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, Answer call signals, Collect specimens

Additional Skills: Supply and empty bed pans, Serve meal trays and feed patients, Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens, Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms, Maintain inventory of supplies

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation

Other Languages: Cantonese, Mandarin
