Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have 1st Period Apprentice.

Area of Specialization: General tilesetting (floors, walls, ceilings, etc.), Ceramics, Marble and granite, Glass mosaics or murals

Materials Used: Ceramic, Mosaic, Marble, Slate, Stone, Terrazzo, Granite

Specific Skills: Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered, Mix, apply and spread adhesive substances, Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base, Align and straighten tiles, Cut and fit tiles around obstacles, Pack grout into joints and between tiles, Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, Determine best layout of tiles

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation, Own vehicle

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Significant use of memory
