Terms: This is a seasonal, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice, Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement.

Major Work Area: Repair, Overhaul, Maintenance, Service, Recondition

Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy trucks, Heavy construction equipment, Tractors, Bulldozers, Graders, Excavators

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools

Additional Skills: Order parts and maintain inventory, Keep maintenance reports and documentation, Welding experience

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Driver’s validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots
