Credentials required: The applicant should have Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Heavy Equipment Operated: Grader, Asphalt spreader, Compactor, Paver, Roller

Type of Work Experience: Fine grading and finishing, Asphalt finishing

Work Setting / Industry Experience: Road construction, Residential construction, Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction

Specific Skills: Operate heavy equipment, Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks, Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, Perform minor repairs to equipment

Additional Skills: Calculate weight, distance, volume and length measurements

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Continuous learning
