Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Extended Trailer Combination Permit or Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, WHMIS Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Extended length tractor-trailer combination

Type of Travel: Long-haul

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Problem solving
