Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Documentation Knowledge: Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver’s licence
