Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Carpenter Trade Certification, Carpenter Red Seal Certificate, First Aid Certificate, WHMIS, Driver’s License.

Human Resources Responsibility: 21 +

Workers Supervised: Carpenters, Apprentices, Trades helpers, Labourers

Major Work Area: Construction

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial

Specific Skills: Supervise workers and projects, Coordinate and schedule activities, Train or arrange for training, Recommend staffing actions, Ensure adherence to safety standards, Set up equipment

Additional Skills: Oversee apprenticeship training, Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure

Work Site Environment: Outdoors

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own vehicle

Ability to Supervise: 20 people or less

Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Continuous learning

Other Information: We are looking for supervisors for commercial and bridge projects in and around Edmonton. Must have experience and attention to detail and safety. Longterm fulltime employment.
