Terms: This is a permanent, full time job Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $35.07 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Bricklayer Trade Certification, Driver’s License.

Major Work Area: Construction

Type of Work Establishment / Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Residential

Area of Specialization: General masonry work

Specific Skills: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units, Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing, Face, size, cut and lay stones, Place steel reinforcing and grout in cavities or cores to build external walls, Install glass blocks, Remove and replace existing masonry work for alterations or restorations, Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment

Additional Skills: Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, Instruct apprentices

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Gloves

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation, Own vehicle

Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing
