Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.
Also: medical, dental, vision, group insurance, life insurance, RRSP benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Work Setting: Jewellery store, Family clothing store, Men’s clothing store, Women’s clothing store, Children’s clothing store

Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Point of sale system, Spreadsheet software, Database software, Inventory control software, Basic computer skills (will train), General office equipment, Computerized bookkeeping systems

Staff Responsibility: 21 - 50

Specific Skills: Plan, direct and evaluate daily operations, Manage staff and assign duties, Determine merchandise and services to be sold, Implement price and credits policies, Perform cash deposits, Balance daily transactions, Develop and implement marketing strategies, Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses, Determine staffing requirements, Recruit and train staff, Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters, Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages, Authorize payments by cheque and the return of merchandise, Customer service oriented

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Credit check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Willing to travel, Public transportation is available

Work Location Information: Urban area, Willing to relocate
