Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $20.00 to $30.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some college or technical training, completed college or technical training.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification, Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate, Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A).

Truck Mechanic Specific Skills: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems, Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications, Perform scheduled maintenance service

Additional Skills: Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor, Complete reports to record problems and work performed, Customer service skills

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Hand-eye co-ordination

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, Drive manual transmission vehicle

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving

Other Information: Must have 1st year Heavy Equipment Technician Certification/Journeyman Trailer Mechanic certification. Applicants not meeting this criteria will not be considered.
